  • Trans Inclusion Pocket Guide A guide developed through the shared lived experience of trans women living in Ontario, specifically about the critical work of trans inclusivity in WHAI work. This resource explores information about trans women in Ontario.
  • Trans and HIV Half-full day (20-60 participants) We will: examine terms, definitions, and issues impacting the transgendered/transsexual community; Learn new language inclusive of trans clients; Understand the social determinants of health for trans clients and links to HIV; Develop strategies for reducing barriers for trans clients accessing services.

  • The Sex You Want The Sex You Want is a campaign developed to increase GBMSM awareness of new HIV prevention and sexual health strategies. Topics covered include: biology of HIV transmission, condoms, undetectable viral load, PEP, and PrEP. The campaign also seeks to support the implementation of sexual health strategies within the unique contexts of gay men’s lives.

  • The Ontario HIV Epidemiology and Surveillance Initiative Website The Ontario HIV Epidemiology and Surveillance Initiative (OHESI) is a provincial collaboration between agencies involved with HIV epidemiology and surveillance in the province. The website provides access to timely, relevant, comprehensive information about the epidemiology of HIV in Ontario.
  • The Basics of Grief and Multiple Loss Training This training provides a comprehensive synthesis of grief, multiple loss and transition theory in the context of HIV/AIDS. These accessible materials provide a solid orientation for ASO staff and volunteers and is also relevant for other agencies working with HIV infected or affected populations.   • Survive to Thrive – the Multiple Loss Journey The Multiple Loss Journey is a visual representation of loss and resiliency developed by community members who have directly experienced ongoing AIDS-related deaths. Distinct aspects of loss and relevant intervention strategies are presented graphically through this visual tool. It can be placed on a wall or on the floor. Translations in French & Spanish.
  • Supporting Mothers in Ways That Work This is a toolkit for people who work with mothers living with HIV. It uses a social justice lens to build skills amongst front line workers. Content includes background information, information about perinatal care, breastfeeding, social surveillance, stigma, discrimination, and action steps.
  • Support Workers Skills Building Workshop This workshop will be re-designed to become a 2 year KTE strategy developed in collaboration with OODP and the AIDS Bureau. Information gathered from the environmental scan of ASO support work, the ASO Needs Assessment and an information session with ASO Executive Directors will all help to inform the curriculum moving forward.

  • Staff Work Planning Facilitation of staff work planning and other planning processes to increase the capacity of ASO staff to initiate, manage and/or participate in the process of staff work planning.   • Rapid Response Service The OHTN Rapid Response Service provides access to research evidence in response to questions from community-based HIV/AIDS organizations in Ontario to help support evidence-informed programs, service delivery and advocacy. We conduct searches of the scientific literature and contact experts in the appropriate fields to locate key information resources.
  • Rapid Response Index A full index of the over 100 Rapid Responses have completed on a variety of topics including services, programs and supports for people living with HIV.
  • Proceedings and Evaluation Report: 3rd Ontario African, Caribbean and Black Research Think Tank This report documents a meeting hosted by ACCHO that brought together researchers, community organization representatives, community members and other stakeholders to discuss HIV issues that impact ACB communities, and identify research priorities to ultimately inform and strengthen the response to HIV in Ontario’s ACB communities.   • Primed2: Sexual Health Guide for Trans Men This sexual health guide was written by and for trans men who have sex with other men. It contains information on staying sexually, emotionally, and mentally safe and healthy.   • Positive Women & Breastfeeding This is a resource about breastfeeding for HIV positive women and service providers.
  • Planning for illness: Legal information for people living with HIV in Ontario Developed at the request of ACB PHAs in Ontario, “Planning for Illness” provides legal information about making preparations in the event of illness and/or death. It provides a general understanding of the law and legal options as it pertains to wills, powers of attorney, income support, etc. This resource is also available in French.
  • Our Voices: HIV, Race and the Criminal Law. An ACCHO Special Report “Our Voices” offers up-to-date information on the criminalization of HIV non-disclosure in accessible and practical terms. It provides an increased awareness/understanding of the issues related of HIV non-disclosure and how they impact ACB people in particular, and of legal resources available to PHAs for matters of HIV disclosure. This resource is also available in French.
  • Our Agenda Campaign Our Agenda is a campaign developed to support GBMSM in making the link between emotional/mental health and sexual health. The website responds to research that shows that multiple epidemics (depression, substance use, partner violence, etc.) are playing out in our community and reinforce each other. The website includes interactive features and blogs from community members.
  • Our Agenda = Mental Health Workshop it is a three part workshop developed to be delivered to local mental health providers to increase their capacity to more effectively respond to the unique mental health stressors that gay and bisexual men experience. The workshop covers gay social determinants of health, intersectionality, syndemics and resilience.
  • OODP Staff Workplanning Guidelines and Template This document is intended for use by individual staff working in the HIV sector. It can also be used by a staff team. It is a planning tool to complement the other planning documents used by the organization, including the strategic plan and implementation plan.
  • Ontario HIV/AIDS Strategy for African, Caribbean and Black Communities 2013-2018 (workshop) The ACB Strategy provides a framework for the response to HIV/AIDS in Ontario’s ACB communities.   • OHTN Community-Based Research & Evaluation Fund The OHTN Community-Based Research & Evaluation Fund assists communities by supporting both the production and discovery of knowledge through community-based research, and the use of evidence to drive programming through participatory program evaluation. These guidelines describe funding program objectives, eligibility criteria, and instructions for applicants who wish to access these funds.
  • OCHART User Training Training for any staff member who reports through OCHART. Staff members call in and training is provided through screen share software. Training can be delivered one-on-one or to groups, and covers issues such as section-specific questions and new additions to OCHART. Session length depends on the amount of material covered.
  • OCASE In House Training Training for ASO staff on use of the OCASE tracking and case management tool. Training covers basic user level instruction, an overview of OCASE requirements, and a review of current staff practices with OCASE. Training is delivered in-house for up to three staff members and takes 60 – 90 minutes.

  • Let’s Talk: A Facilitator’s Guide “Let’s Talk” aims to provide guidance and support to service providers seeking to engage individuals who may feel ill-prepared to have difficult conversations about sensitive issues/topics with members of their family or other social and professional networks (partners, parents, children or colleagues).   • HIV Disclosure: a legal guide for gay men in Canada This guide is designed to answer some of your questions about HIV disclosure and the law in Canada. Most of it is about criminal law.   • Hepatitis C and HIV Co-infection 1-2 hours (20-60 participants) We will: cover what the Hepatitis C virus; how it works in the body; disease progression and treatments; accurate information on transmission, prevention and testing. We briefly look at special considerations for people co-infected with HIV.

  • Cruising Counts: Program Guide for Online Sexual Health Outreach in Ontario This guide is designed to support online (sexual health) outreach services to GBMSM. This program guide captures recommendations, best practices and processes currently being used by different online outreach programs across Ontario. The guide includes research evidence that is based in Ontario and evaluates the efficacy of online outreach work to local GBMSM.
  • Collective Action Community Change: A Provincial Situational Analysis by the Women & HIV/AIDS Initiative This is a collective representation of 16 situational analyses completed by Women and HIV/AIDS Initiative (WHAI) Coordinators across Ontario. Each situational analysis explored the strengths, needs and experiences of women living with HIV and facing systemic risk factors for acquiring HIV as well as community capacity to address women’s HIV-related needs.

  • 2015 View From the Front Lines VFTFL is the annual summary and analysis of OCHART data. This edition reflects data collected between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015 and includes reports from 109 AIDS Bureau funded programs in 91 organizations. It provides an overview of: HIV epidemiology; prevention services; testing services; clinical services and support services.
